worship

I had never noticed that all enjoyment spontaneously overflows into praise [whether of God or anything]... The world rings with praise -- lovers praising their mistresses, readers their favorite poet, walkers praising the countryside, players praising their favorite game. ... I think we delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment; it is its appointed consummation.

- C.S. Lewis.

We believe worship is an essential part of human flourishing.

Rooted in the gift of freedom in Jesus, worship is a celebration of restored relationship with God, not a striving for approval.

As we worship, we tell the ancient-contemporary unfolding story of God's rescue, and relive that redemptive experience.

Through joining together in song, we welcome each other into that story, enjoy the beauty and complexity of many voices joining together as one, and reflect God's immensity and proximity.

what can i expect?

  • Come as You are

God doesn't expect you to have your act together, nor wear a tie, before you come to church.

  • Step into the story

We recall and retell the drama of the gospel every week through arranging our service liturgically. We aim to enliven and encourage participation by adopting it as a structure through which we remember and engage with God’s work in the world.

  • bring your kids

We provide childcare for young kids and children's church during the service, but are used to and unbothered by squirming and chatter from children if you prefer to keep them in the service.

  • hear The Gospel

We believe that the Gospel is the power of God for changed lives. You will hear the gospel preached from the Bible every week.
