Shaynor Newsome (Pastor)

Shaynor grew up in Dallas and graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Baylor University, where he worked with homeless men and at-risk teens for an inner-city ministry. He was also a Hall Director at Baylor, and then the European coordinatinor for a tour company; leading tours in Western Europe. After earning his MDiv. at Truett Theological Seminary, Shaynor spent 12 years in campus ministry with Reformed University Fellowship at New Mexico State and Baylor Universities. He and his wife, Heather (B.A. & M.S. in Economics at Baylor), and their two kids, Jonathan (16) and Violet (6) moved to Eugene in December 2013. They love the beauty and friendliness of Eugene. Shaynor enjoys rock climbing, fishing, archery, reading, an occasional fine cigar, and a good nap. He's also a big fan of music; The Avett Brothers, Arcade Fire, Johnny Cash, U2, Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper, Sturgill Simpson, and Sufjan Stevens, to name a few, along with Journey and other 80's favorites. He and the family are big fans of all things Baylor and Dallas sports, and are already outfitted with Ducks gear.


Jeff Shaver (Pastoral Assistant)

In college, Shaynor was Jeff’s campus minister at New Mexico State University. From there, he moved to Dallas, Texas to pursue a Masters of Divinity at Redeemer Theological Seminary. Upon graduation, Jeff raised money to join the staff at Cascade, helping it grow and reach its goals.

At Cascade, Jeff’s job description includes a number of tasks—heading up the youth, college, and young adult ministries. 

During his free time, Jeff enjoys reading books, training mixed martial arts, and restoring his vintage motorcycle.

Wesley Fox (Music Director)

Wesley and his wife, Erica, moved to Eugene in August of 2014, where he studies Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Oregon. He grew up in Northern California, and attended a small reformed church where he led and wrote music and volunteered as a graphic designer. Wesley and Erica enjoy traveling and adventuring, cooking, and thrifting. They love the city of Eugene, from its eclectic food and drink menu to its beautiful scenery and never-boring people-watching opportunities.

Wesley's current musical enjoyments include Indelible Grace, Citizens and Saints, Snarky Puppy, Animals As Leaders, Beautiful Eulogy, Propaganda, Thrice (and Dustin Kensrue), Josh Garrels, Strawberry Girls, any artist on Candy Rat Records, ancient hymns that no one has ever heard, and Taylor Swift.

Wesley loves to meet new folks. Ask him about his love for craft beer, cocktails, and excellent tunage and he will gladly buy your first round and talk jazz-fusion, tattoos, and the pitfalls of Christian Culture for hours in downtown Eugene.

Amelia Mau (Children's Coordinator)

Amelia moved to Eugene in August of 2015 to start her M.A. in music theory at the University of Oregon. She has a B.M. degree in classical guitar performance from Salem College, a liberal arts college for women in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. From 2014-2015, Amelia taught elementary school music at Redeemer School in Winston-Salem and also served as the assistant children’s music minister for the parish of St. Timothy’s Episcopal church in Winston-Salem. Amelia is an active member of the Palmetto Voices, one of America’s top choirs, which recently gave a performance in Carnegie Hall. In her spare time, Amelia enjoys hiking, dancing, sipping coffee, and drinking beer, especially with friends.
